Ceisteanna (264)

Dessie Ellis

Ceist:

264. Deputy Dessie Ellis asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his attention has been drawn to the very limited information given to persons on the reason they have failed their driving test even if only narrowly; and his plans to introduce a system which would better advise failing applicants on the specific skills that need improving. Freagraí scríofa

Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006 (Conferral of Functions) Order 2006 (S.I. No. 477 of 2006) the Road Safety Authority has responsibility for the delivery of the driving test. Noting this I have referred the Deputy's question to the Road Safety Authority for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
