221. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a decision has been made in relation to a student grant application for a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [33355/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraOfficials in my Department have confirmed with Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) that the applicant referred to by the Deputy initially applied as an Independent Mature student and following the appeals process was reassessed as a Dependent Mature student. Following the reassessment she was issued with a grant award letter on 6th June. The applicant appealed this decision on 1st July and is currently going through the appeals process.
