73. Deputy Derek Keating asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will consider opening a temporary social welfare office in the Lucan area, County Dublin, until an adequate premises is located by the Office of Public Works; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [32896/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Property Management Section of the Office of Public Works (OPW) is responsible for the acquisition of all accommodation requirements for the Department. The Department has identified the need for a new office to serve the Lucan-Adamstown area and the Office of Public Works is committed to providing a new Intreo Office in this area during 2014. Given the time required to secure new leases and the expenditure involved, it is not considered appropriate to open a temporary Social Welfare Local Office at this time.
