Deputy Michael Colreavy asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if a new postcode system should be based on numbers and two letters representing Ireland, as is the norm in other bilingual countries; his views on whether the letters used should be IE, for example, Ireland/Éire, as this abbreviation is already in widespread use especially in the world of computing and marketing; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
