The National Transport Authority (NTA) has responsibility for the regulation of the taxi industry, including vehicle standards, under the provisions of the Public Transport Regulation Act, 2009. The NTA is also the lead agency with responsibility for implementation of the recommendations of the Taxi Regulation Review Report 2011, including the new regulatory requirement for 6-monthly renewal and assessment of older vehicles. I have referred your question to the NTA for direct reply. If you do not receive a response within ten working days please notify my private office.
