Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Education and Skills the reason a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan has twice been refused a reader to enable them to participate in the Junior Certificate exams; if he will take measures to address this; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations. The State Examinations Commission operates a scheme of Reasonable Accommodations in the Certificate examinations. Applications for such accommodations are submitted by schools on behalf of their students.
