67. Deputy Dan Neville asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding funding in respect of a school (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12477/14]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe school to which the Deputy refers applied to my Department for additional accommodation including a mainstream classroom, learning support/resource accommodation and ancillary accommodation. As the Deputy will be aware, my Department recently approved a significant devolved grant for 1 mainstream classroom and 3 learning support/resource rooms to allow the school to replace all of its temporary accommodation. Given the current financial constraints within which my Department is operating, the position is that priority is being given to school applications for essential mainstream classroom and special education accommodation. In this regard, the provision of ancillary accommodation including a staff room and a secretary's office cannot be prioritised at this time.
