604. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Health the full complement of general hospital beds currently available on a regional basis throughout the country in the public health sector; the number of similar beds in the private sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information requested by the Deputy is collated by the Business Intelligence Unit within the Health Service Executive. Therefore, I have asked the Executive to respond directly to the Deputy in relation to this matter. In relation to the Deputy's query regarding private beds; my Department has no role or function.
