Deputy Noel Harrington asked the Minister for Health the timeline for when the health (transport supports) Bill will come before the House to provide for the restoration of the mobility grants to the disability sector to alleviate the hardship experienced by a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In November 2013, the Government decided that the detailed preparatory work required for a new travel subsidy scheme and associated statutory provisions should be progressed by the Minister for Health. The Minister has included the Health (Transport Supports) Bill in the Government’s legislative programme. Work is ongoing at the present time on the policy proposals to be brought to Government.
