870. Deputy Niall Collins asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if his Department or agencies under its auspices has engaged the services of a debt collection agency in pursuing money owed to his Department or its agencies; if his Department have guidelines regarding hiring such agencies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy might wish to note that my Department has not employed the services of a debt collection agency. The State agencies under the remit of the Department have also been consulted in relation to this matter and they confirmed that no such services have been engaged.
