Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Finance the total cost of public relations-communications to his Department in 2013; the spend to date in 2014; the total estimate for 2014; the corresponding figures for each agency funded from his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI take it that the Deputy is referring solely to the total cost of public relations/communications and not to costs associated with advertising that would be incurred by my Department in the normal course of business, such as entries into telephone directories, the placing of advertisements in national newspapers, recruitment advertising, etc. On that basis, for the years in question (2013 and 2014 to date), my Department had no expenditure on public relations/communications. There is no estimate for public relations/communications spend for 2014.
No agencies were funded from the Vote for my Department in 2013 and 2014.
