Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the total cost of public relations-communications to his Department in 2013; the spend to date in 2014; the total estimate for 2014; the corresponding figures for each agency funded from his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department’s Press and Information Office, amongst its other duties, provides public relations/communications services to this Department and this work is covered by the salaries of the staff assigned to this office. My Department does not employ external public relations companies.
As regards the State Agencies, the management of public relations/communications services is an operational matter for the agencies themselves.
