Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the assistance that may be available to minority sports (details supplied) towards the cost of affiliation to their governing bodies; the qualifying criteria should any assistance be available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Irish Sports Council, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the promotion, development and co-ordination of sport, including the allocation of funding for the National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs). As this question is a matter for the Irish Sports Council, I have referred it to the Irish Sports Council for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to inform my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.
