Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if she is satisfied with the procedure used by the Public Appointments Service to recently fill the post of qualified instructor at the Garda equestrian centre in the Phoenix Park, Dublin 8; if the initial successful candidate failed to pass the Garda vetting test in view of the fact that the person had a criminal record; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
