Ceisteanna (379)

John McGuinness

Ceist:

379. Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Health the reason a child (details supplied) in County Kilkenny has been waiting almost four years for access to speech and language therapy in view of the fact their case is deemed urgent; if he will expedite an appointment and ongoing therapy to the required level; if funding will be approved for private sector services required by this child; the number of Health Service Executive speech therapists in this region; the number of persons waiting for the service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the particular issue raised by the Deputy relates to an individual case, this is a service matter for the Health Service Executive. Accordingly, I have arranged for the question to be referred to the HSE for direct reply to the Deputy.
