310. Deputy Patrick O'Donovan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the proposed salary cap for young farmers under the rural development programme; and the proposed salary cap for off farming income; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [47951/14]
Amharc ar fhreagraFollowing consultation with the Direct Payment Advisory Committee comprising of members of the main farming organisations and advisory services, and in the context of the limited funding available to the National Reserve under Pillar I, I have decided that an off-farm income limit of €40,000 will be applied to all applicants to the National Reserve. This income limit applies to National Reserve Scheme only and not to payments under the Young Farmers Scheme. There are no conditions proposed in the draft Terms and Conditions relating to salary or off farm income for the Young Farmers investment scheme under the Rural Development Programme 2014 -2020.
