499. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if Tusla will to re-open the social workers' panel to new applicants during 2015 for potential vacancies that may arise; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1331/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Child and Family Agency (TUSLA) has advised me that, at the end of November 2014, they were actively recruiting 192 social workers. Of these, 118 have successfully completed the qualifying stages and are at varying stages of advanced recruitment, such as agreeing start dates. The remaining 74 posts will involve interviewing applicants, some of whom have previously applied for social worker posts. The Agency has advised that as recruitment continues into 2015, further panels will be created and anyone interested in a career with the Agency should monitor their website and apply when the relevant post is advertised.
