Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Justice and Equality her views on response times to parliamentary questions submitted to her and forwarded to the Garda Commissioner; and if she will ensure that all parliamentary questions requiring a further detailed reply are dealt with within a 15-day limit similar to the way other Departments operate. Amharc ar fhreagraI appreciate that delays in receiving detailed replies can be frustrating for Deputies. In some instances, however, it is necessary to collate responses from numerous sources and operational pressures may cause delay. I will arrange to have this matter raised with the Garda Commissioner and the Chair designate of the Independent Police Authority with a view to improving my Department's response times.
