Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Minister for Defence the number of persons serving in the Reserve Defence Force whose units are based more than 50 km from their home address; more than 100 km from their home address; if all members have been assigned to units as per their preference in the reorganisation of March 2013; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe information requested by the Deputy concerning the numbers of personnel serving with units of varying distances from their home address is not available. It is not possible to produce this level of data without using an inordinate amount of resources. With regard to whether or not all members of the Reserve Defence Forces have been assigned to units as per their preference in the re-organisation of March 2013, my Department is currently seeking to compile an accurate reply and I will provide the information directly to the Deputy once it comes to hand.
