Sandra McLellan
Ceist:138. Deputy Sandra McLellan asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs his views on the infant mortality rate of children in direct provision, where, according to the Department of Justice and Equality figures, 61 persons living in direct provision have died since its establishment in 2002, of which 16 were infants or young children under five years of age, in other words, infants and very young children account for 25% of deaths of persons living in direct provision; and his views that his Department has a responsibility to ask why children between the ages of zero and five years account for 25% of these deaths.
