581. Deputy Eoghan Murphy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will provide extra funding for the expansion of the dublinbikes scheme outside the canals area which would require Government subsidisation in view of the fact that there is little scope for extending the scheme under the current model with a company (details supplied). The administration and expansion of the dublinbikes scheme is the responsibility of the National Transport Authority (NTA) in co-operation with each of the four Dublin local authorities.   

I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct response.  If he has not received a response within 10 working days he should contact my private office.
