Ceisteanna (77)

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

77. Deputy Michael Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his views on including funding under the new farm safety scheme for the installation of a road underpass in view of the large number of farmers who have land holdings on either side of busy roads; his views that this presents a clear safety hazard to both farmers and road users alike; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A wide range of investment items, including investments in Dairy Farms and measures to enhance safety on farms, are proposed for inclusion in the new TAMS Schemes under the Rural Development Plan 2014-2020. However, there are no plans at present to include road underpasses in the new farm safety scheme, which forms part of the proposed suite of TAMS schemes.
