91. Deputy Michelle Mulherin asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of persons on the waiting list for legal aid; the waiting time for each law centre in the country for persons awaiting legal services pursuant to legal aid; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10751/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraI wish to advise the Deputy that the Legal Aid Board is independent in the exercise of its functions, in accordance with Section 3 (3) of the Civil Legal Aid Act 1994. Furthermore, as Minister for Justice and Equality, I am not responsible or accountable to the Dáil for the matter referred to in the Deputy's question.
