208. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection if a person (details supplied) in County Kerry is eligible for a grant to obtain a hearing aid under the treatment benefit scheme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12921/15]

The customer concerned is qualified for treatment benefits and can apply for a hearing aid grant using the application form available from his chosen audiologist.

The Department will pay 50% of the cost of the hearing aid, subject to a maximum of €500 per aid.
