779. Deputy Terence Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the steps being taken to promote the use of Irish in his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14173/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department adopted, in 2013, its third Irish Language Scheme, prepared under section 15 of the Official Languages Act 2003 and confirmed by the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. The current Irish Language Scheme details the steps being taken to promote the use of the Irish language within my Department and aims to continue to deliver and build on the commitments outlined in previous Schemes. The current Scheme adheres to the Department’s principles of Quality Customer Service and continues to ensure that persons who wish to conduct their business in Irish are facilitated.
