Robert Dowds

Ceist:

864. Deputy Robert Dowds asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views on whether Iarnród Éireann should open the brand new railway station at Kishogue, which has been closed since its construction several years ago, when the Phoenix Park tunnel is opened to passenger traffic between Heuston Station and Connolly Station. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport I have responsibility for policy and the overall funding of public transport.  Responsibility for the development of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area, including train stations, is a function of the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Noting this, I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 working days.
