Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the position regarding proposed legislation in relation to data protection around the post codes project; when this will be finalised; the time frame for the implementation of post codes and this legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe General Scheme of the Communications Regulation (Postal Services) Amendment Bill 2015 was approved by Government in February. The Bill is currently being drafted by the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel. It is my intention to bring the Bill to Government for approval to publish when the drafting process has been completed. The dissemination phase of the project will commence in the next few months with the delivery by post of a unique eircode to every address in Ireland.
