44. Deputy Pat Breen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection when a decision on arrears of disability allowance will issue in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16914/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for carer's allowance by the person in question was disallowed. The person in question was notified on the 14th of November 2015 of this decision, the reasons for it and of his/her right of review and appeal. The person concerned requested a review of this decision and following that review the application was awarded on 24th February 2015. The claim was awarded from 12th February 2015 as it was decided that the full time care conditions were satisfied from that date only. The person in question has requested further backdating and this request is currently being reviewed. Once this review is completed the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome.
