406. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if a person in receipt of the farmers' early retirement scheme is permitted to transfer the lease of that person's lands to another lessee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20314/15]

A person in receipt of Farmers’ Early Retirement Scheme pension may change the lessee of their land subject to the conditions of the scheme being complied with. The new lessee must be a qualifying young farmer and prior approval of my Department should be sought.
