In order to meet the programme objectives, it is necessary that all participants in the BDGP undertake a training course which inter alia will provide them with information regarding the optimal use of breeding indexes. The use of this data is a key driver of efficiency and profitability at farm level.

In accordance with Procurement Regulations, my Department will be inviting service providers to submit a tender for the provision of these courses. The Department will cover the costs of the training and a payment of €166 will be paid by the service provider, on behalf of the Department, to each Programme participant who completes the training course.
