781. Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade his views on the death sentences that have recently been passed on the former President of Egypt and other prisoners in Egypt; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20473/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am deeply concerned about the use of mass trials and passage of mass capital sentences in Egypt. Ireland is a long-standing opponent the use of the death penalty in all cases and in all circumstances. The death penalty is cruel and inhumane and represents an unacceptable denial of human dignity and integrity.
