445. Deputy Barry Cowen asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if a candidate who sat a stage 3 Garda trainee competition test in the Public Appointments Service in Dublin in the specialised Irish stream but took ill on the day during the test, could be afforded the opportunity to re-sit the test; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Public Appointments Service (PAS) is managing the recruitment process for the Garda Commissioner and I have no direct involvement in the matter. I would advise any candidate who has any queries arising from their application to contact the Public Appointments Service.
