879. Deputy Michael McCarthy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the funding allocated to the development of basketball in the north east basketball league over the past ten years from Basketball Ireland funding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23252/15]

The allocation of funding for basketball is a matter for Basketball Ireland as the National Governing Body for the sport of basketball in Ireland.  I have referred this question to the Irish Sports Council and have asked them to forward it to Basketball Ireland for direct reply to the Deputy.
