Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport further to the upcoming harbours (amendment) Bill, the work undertaken by a joint steering group established between Drogheda Port and Louth County Council; the number of times it has met; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraA Steering Committee has been established by Drogheda Port Company and Louth County Council to examine the practical and detailed issues for consideration in light of the forthcoming transfer of control of the company to the council.
I am informed that the Steering Committee has met 4 number of times since its establishment. The Council has also appointed consultants to carry out due diligence prior to the transfer and this process is currently underway.
