266. Deputy Tom Fleming asked the Minister for Finance if he will reinstate the inheritance threshold of €542,544 which was set for early 2009, given that the threshold of €225,000 is too low; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [33248/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraPreparations for Budget 2016 and the consequent Finance Bill are ongoing. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on what changes, if any, are being considered to Inheritance Tax or any other tax measure. I have, however, already indicated in response to previous questions that I will be reviewing the Inheritance Tax and Gift Tax (Capital Acquisitions Tax) tax-free thresholds.
