188. Deputy Noel Coonan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection when an application for a disability allowance will be finalised for a person in (details supplied) County Tipperary; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [37557/15]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am informed by the Department that the application for disability allowance (DA) from the person in question was disallowed on 15 June 2015 on the grounds that he failed to demonstrate that he satisfied the means test for the scheme. The Department requested that he supply information necessary to determine his means but he failed to do so. The person in question was advised of the decision and the reason for it and of his rights of review and/or appeal.
It is open to the person in question to lodge a new application for DA and a decision will be made on it as soon as possible.
