Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht why she has not performed an assessment of the impact of the Asian clam infestation in the River Shannon at Lanesborough in County Longford, and its impact on the natural eutrophic lake with the Magnopotamion or Hydrocharition-type vegetation habitat of Lough Ree, given its protection under European Union law; when she will undertake such an assessment; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
