256. Deputy Billy Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of schools renting prefabricated units and the number of these that are newly rented, and purchased, by cost, by school, by county, since January 2014; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [43345/15]

Currently, 366 primary and post-primary schools are renting prefab accommodation.

Details of these schools by county, together with the current cost and the number of newly rented units since 2014 at each school, is attached for the Deputy's attention.

My Department has grant aided the purchase of twenty three prefabs units since 2014. Six of these were previously rented by schools and have now been purchased. A breakdown by county of these prefabs is also attached for the Deputy's attention.
