78. Deputy Michelle Mulherin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the status of an application under the carer's benefit scheme by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; if it will be expedited due to financial hardship; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that my department has no record of a claim for carer’s benefit but has received an application for carer’s allowance from the person concerned on 17 November 2015 in respect of two care recipients. Once processed, the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome.
