The aim of my Department’s Local and Community Development Programmes was to tackle poverty and social exclusion in disadvantaged communities. The programme provided funding of €281 million to communities during the period January 2010 to end March 2015, when the new Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) was rolled out across communities, following a competitive tendering process.
The details requested by the Deputy in relation to the number of persons who progressed into employment or self-employment as a result of Local Community Development Programme interventions on a county basis are set out in the following table.
