Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to provide details of his Department's use of external public relations firms since he came into office by year in tabular form; the uses of these firms and the policy regarding employing them; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has not engaged any external public relations firms since I became Minister.

In relation to my Department’s policy for the engagement of external expertise, this is generally only considered where the issues involved require expert skills or capabilities that are not readily available within my Department.
