Deputy Micheál Martin asked the Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 182 of 14 January 2016 (details supplied), the number of gardaí in Mullinahone Garda station in County Tipperary at the end of 2010, as this information did not appear in the Garda Síochána reply. Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the distribution of personnel, among the Garda Regions, Divisions, and Districts. Garda management keep this distribution under continuing review taking into account crime trends and policing priorities so as to ensure that the best possible use is made of these resources.
I have been informed by the Garda Commissioner that there were no Gardaí assigned to Mullinahone Garda station on 31 December 2010 and that as of the 30 November 2015 the latest date for which figures are available there was 1 Garda assigned to the station. I am also advised that the assignment of Gardaí to sub-district stations is subject to continual review and alteration by local Garda management in the context of policing priorities and resources available.
