593. Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of vacancies that exist within his Department for candidates who must display competence in the Irish language; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5441/16]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere is one post within my Department which requires competence in the Irish language and that is the Irish Language Officer post. This post was filled internally in November 2015. No other posts requiring such competence have been identified. However, my Department also has a number of officers who are competent in the Irish Language outside of this post.
