354. Deputy Billy Kelleher asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the enforcement strategy of An Garda Síochána in relation to the new legislation banning smoking in cars with children; the financial resources and manpower that have been designated to ensure adherence to the law; the number of fines which have been imposed to date; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy will appreciate that the legislation in question is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Health. I have sought a report from the Garda authorities on the specific matters referred to and I will contact the Deputy directly as soon as it is to hand.
