835. Deputy Jack Chambers asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the status of the plan to extend the Royal Canal project between Dublin 15 and Maynooth in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6121/16]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe National Transport Authority is responsible for the delivery of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) in cooperation with the relevant local authority, in this case Kildare County Council. The Royal Canal project to which the Deputy refers is part of the overall Dublin to Galway Greenway which is a priority project for my Department and one which I am fully supportive of.
