Amharc ar fhreagraGrant assistance is available to organic farmers wishing to install rain harvesting systems on their farms. Grant aid of 40% is available for registered licensed organic farmers under the Organic Capital Investment Scheme (OCIS) of TAMS II. A top-up of an additional 20% is available to qualifying young organic farmers. There is also a proposal with the EU Commission to grant aid rain water harvesting systems for all other qualifying farmers as part of the Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020. Formal approval of the required amendment to the Rural Development Programme is expected from the EU Commission shortly.
