54. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if she will review policies regarding maternity leave in unique circumstances (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18939/16]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere is no provision under current legislation for additional Maternity Leave in either of the circumstances outlined in the details supplied. As the Deputy will be aware, a Family Leave Bill, the aim of which will be the consolidation into one piece of legislation the current provisions regarding maternity, adoptive, parental and carer’s leave, is being drafted. The Bill when published will provide an opportunity to consider further improvements in the operation of these types of leave.
