Deputy Niall Collins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if a file regarding an alleged animal welfare matter (details supplied) has been passed by his Department to the Director of Public Prosecutions for consideration; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraA file is currently being examined with a view to considering whether summonses alleging offences under sections 11 and 12 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013, should be brought in the appropriate Court. I will ensure that the Deputy is advised of the decision taken. It is important to remember that the determination of any allegations is a matter for the Court.
