687. Deputy Anne Rabbitte asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the amount paid by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, to all independent guardians ad litem, GAL, in 2015; and the amount which was paid to each individual to act as an independent GAL in the same year. [19157/16]
Amharc ar fhreagraUnder the Child Care Act, 1991, as amended, the Child and Family Agency has responsibility for payment of any costs incurred by a person who has been appointed by a court to act as a guardian ad litem in proceedings under the Act. The Child and Family Agency has advised that, pursuant to this responsibility, the total amount paid in 2015 to guardians ad litem was €8,976,386.18. The following is a breakdown of that amount:
