645. Deputy Shane Cassells asked the Minister for Health to abolish prescription charges for persons with intellectual disabilities as this cost is a burden on their already small incomes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22386/16]

The prescription charge is a matter which I intend to consider in the context of the implementation of the health commitments in the Programme for Partnership Government and having regard to the funding available to facilitate such measures.
